Mediation FAQs

What is mediation?

Mediation is a process to resolve conflicts amicably and confidentially without court intervention. I meet with each party separately and/or together to understand their interests and help them reach a harmonious decision faster and cheaper than by hiring a lawyer.

How does mediation work?

Mediation involves a neutral mediator who facilitates discussions, helping parties reach a mutually agreeable solution. Once you've reached agreement, I draft a settlement agreement that is entered with the local court to make the agreement binding. If there hasn't been any litigation, I create a written agreement that is enforceable under contract law.

Is mediation confidential?

Yes, mediation is confidential, ensuring that discussions remain private and cannot be used in court proceedings.

What are the costs?

Mediation is generally less expensive than court litigation, saving both time and money for the parties involved.

What types of conflicts can be mediated?

Mediation can address family conflicts, landlord-tenant disputes, divorce issues, and various other types of disagreements between individuals or companies effectively. And while case adjudicated in the courts can take 1-5 years to resolve, mediation frequently takes much less time, so you can move on with your life and focus on what is working.
